Before you start
- A Deye hybrid inverter in normal operation.
- A USB charger and a socket near the inverter.
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at the inverter.
1. Find the right port
Deye hybrids have several communication sockets. Leave the BMS port (RS485 or CAN, connected to your battery) and the meter port alone. MoniWatt for Deye goes on the RS485 Modbus port intended for monitoring. The labels vary between models; if in doubt, send us a photo of the port area and the model label.
2. Modbus address
The inverter answers on a Modbus address, 1 by default. If you changed it, or if you run several inverters in parallel, note the address shown in the inverter’s communication settings.
3. Connect
Plug the supplied RJ45 cable into the Modbus port and into the box, then power the box with USB-C.
Switch nothing off and open nothing inside the inverter. This is a low-voltage communication port only.
4. Wi-Fi and password
Join the box’s setup Wi-Fi from your phone, choose your home network, set your dashboard password.
5. Compare with the inverter
Open http://moniwatt.local. Battery SOC, PV power and grid power should match the inverter screen within a few watts.
Troubleshooting
- No data: wrong port (BMS or meter), or the Modbus address does not match.
- Strange values: the model selected in the settings does not match your inverter (single-phase vs three-phase).
- Still stuck: send the diagnostics page and your model to [email protected].
